Momentum Tulsa - Photography

This weekend was the Momentum art show in Tulsa. My cousin Elizabeth went with me and we had a great time viewing the different types of work that was there. The exhibition will stay at Living Arts until October 23rd. If you're in Tulsa, you need to go by and view the art! You will love it!

Here are the photographs that are at the art show.

"The Wall"
This photograph was taken in Roff, Oklahoma. This lawn chair was sitting in this space where a building had once been. I don't know for sure who placed this chair there. Above the wall, I guess growing on the top of the next building are vines.

"Long Ago"
Driving down a county road one day, I looked to my left and I found this abandoned old school bus. This school bus leaves a lot of questions that are left unanswered. Right beside the bus is a cellar. The bus and cellar are objects left out near a grove of trees.

Autumn is Upon Us

Yesterday morning I made a skillet full of cornbread and my mom made a pot full of pinto beans. We welcomed Fall with a homemade warm meal. We had reruns(that's what we call leftovers) today. I got my chili out of the freezer and made the best meal ever, chili beans.
My chili recipe is Emeril's Chili. I have made this recipe mine, I usually half the recipe so I only use half as much ingredients and it turns out just great!

Going Down the Road

Digital Photography School had a great idea, mirrored self portraits. I decided to do it down an empty county road.

Awesomeness All-Around

What could be better than a workshop that combines photography and the fellowship of God?
I would love to attend this workshop. It will be exciting to learn new things with fellow photographers. I definitely know that everyone would go back home with something new that they learned from both the teachers as well as each other. Other workshops may just cover technical information, but this workshop gives photography a meaning. It is the spirit of God that gives us the talent to do good with what he gives us.

If anyone ran across my above paragraph, Zach and Jody Gray are having a workshop called For the Love in Oregon in November!

They'll cover photography topics such as lighting techniques, posing and basic camera settings. Also, they'll cover branding & marketing and other important topics.

Please visit For the Love's tweets!

What's Better Than Butter?

This week's theme for I Heart Faces is Photojournalism.

This photograph was taken in Sherman, Texas at the anniversary celebration for the Butterfield Overland Mail Trial. This celebration had demonstrations of quilting, weaving, and of course butter making. They also had a chuck wagon that served food and had stagecoach rides.

Art of the Chickasaw Woman Art Exhibit - Ada, Oklahoma

In April, I was selected to participate in the Art of the Chickasaw Woman Exhibit that coincided with the Dynamic Chickasaw Woman Conference held at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. By being selected, this was a great honor.

"Independence Pass, 2009"

"Iron Horse"

"Animas River Valley"

If you would like to see some more of my nature and landscape photography, please visit my photography site at www.brownphotography.us.

The Harrison Kids - Southern Oklahoma Family Photographer

The sometimes wild and rambunctious Harrison kiddos. Allie and Kobe are almost twins. They are about 7 months apart. I love the first picture the most. If you knew Kobe, he's the typical class clown for the soon-to-be second grade. I love Allie's joyfulness and Kobes opposite seriousness.

The Girls - Southern Oklahoma Family Photographer

My best friend Kami and her little sister Maci.

The Hayes - Southern Oklahoma Family and Children Photographer

The Hayes family before the addition of baby PJ. It's hard to believe he's about 8 months old now! How time flies.

I Heart Faces Photo Challenge - Pets

This is my dog Talulah. She's my best friend!

When my grandma was living, we would sit in the lawn chairs on the porch. One day we looked out and Talulah was sitting in the lawn chair! Once, the chair was folded up and laying on the porch and she still laid on it. She is a silly, but very smart dog.

I have another funny story (I could go on and on about Talulah). My grandma had been in the hospital but had got out. My mom and grandma went to visit some friends. Talulah didn't know that I was home, so she wondered where every one was. I looked out the den window and she stood up and put her paws on the mirrors and looked inside the car and then went around to the front and put her paws on the hood so she could look in the dash. I don't think some people realize how smart dogs really are.

After my grandma passed away, you could tell that Talulah knew that she wasn't around but I couldn't tell her that she wasn't coming back home.

Have an Epiphanie?

Beyond Snaphots is giving away an Epiphanie 'Lola' bag! How cool is that?

You have to link back a photo with something that means red to you. You have until April 2 to enter and the winner will be announced on April 3! Good luck. :)

I've decided to use a picture of Copper and Penny when Penny was just a wee little foal. This May, Penny will be two years old. That's hard to imagine that she's growing up. She 's best friends with the ornery Miko. I bet Miko gets the pretty Penny into trouble at times.

Wish List Item #1

On another photographers blog, I found a link to Epiphanie Bags. I myself need a new camera bag. Since I got my new camera, I got a big chunky black one that I don't really like. The old camera went with the cute little bag when I sold the old camera. I'm still not happy about it. :(

I love each and every one of these bags! I don't know which one I will choose. Epiphanie has, Ginger, Belle and Lola! Pick your favorite too! :)
Epiphanie is having the most amazing giveaway!

They are giving away either a Canon 5D Mark or a $2500 Gift Certificate from Southwest Airlines!

The way you can enter is that your name will be entered based on the number of points you earn such as 1 point is for tweeting, 3 points for blogging and 10 points for purchasing a bag. There are also other ways to earn points. Just remember you can repeat the things but it won't earn you any extra points if you do so!

To earn 3 points, you can make an Epiphanie Card! Here's the one that I'm about to send in.
The rules and regulations are listed on the Epiphanie's blog.

Good luck!
