The Hayes
One evening in the early Fall I took my friend Mandy and her family's pictures. They are the nicest bunch of people! The two boys are the cutest ever. :)

August.
I haven't posted lately because it has been so darn hot. For the past 3 weeks, it's been about 100 degrees and the heat index even more. I went to Colorado and Wyoming a few weeks ago and definitely need to post the pictures from that trip!

Best of Show
In my last post, I said that I had a photo shoot with my mom. Well, there was an employee art show and I entered one of the pictures from the shoot. Guess what! That photo won 'Best of Show' which was voted on by fellow employees. I was shocked to hear that and still am shocked that I won this award. Below is the picture that won.

Updates
Sorry for the updates. I've started a new job and everything is in full swing, but that doesn't mean that I've ignored photography. Last Thursday I had a photo shoot with my mom. We went down a dirt road in northern Johnston County. I had fun and I know she did too. I will post pictures of the shoot later. I also need to update my flickr accounts as well.

The New Girl in Town
We have a new foal and her name is Penny. She was born on Saturday. So, Miko (yes, we finally named him) is about a month older than him. It's funny, she's so little but their personalities are so different. On her first day, she was running around the barn while Miko walks around with his mom. Penny's mom, Copper is a high strung horse, so I don't know how close we will get to her. Hopefully with good training, she'll be more gentle than her mom ever was.
Also, I updated my flickr wildflowers and the flickr for the horses. Enjoy! :-)

Summertime
This weekend, I went to my cousins house for the afternoon. The highlight of our weekend really was that my cousins four wheeler caught on fire. My 4 year old cousin saved our day but getting on his own 4 wheeler and going up to the house to tell his grandparents about the fire.

Horses
On April 26, our horse Sugar had a colt. This colt is still nameless. This Saturday, the colt will be four weeks old. I like to go outside and pet him. The dog acts like she's scared of him, but I think they're secretly friends.
Sisters
Last Sunday after church, my two friends Kami and Maci came over for a photo shoot. I knew they would be great models. I told them that I'm new at this, so they'd have to help me with what worked best and wouldn't. They were great and everything worked out. A few of the other photographers can be seen on my flickr badge at the right. Here is the link to the flickr page, http://www.flickr.com/photos/26850169@N08/.
Wildflowers and Hills
On May 10th, I decided to go west of Fittstown around Byrds Mill Springs to take some photographs. Around there, it is almost like the desert around there. There are cactus, yucca and wildflowers that aren't seen around most other places. At the top of the hills, it is so beautiful. The area seems so peaceful with the green limestone grass.
Camera News
I got a new camera! It's a Nikon D40X. I'm getting used to it. It's so much better than my point and shoot digital camera. With the old camera, it would take forever to take consecutive pictures. I am trying new things with the camera.
